NBA Bubble Study Says Home Court Advantage Does Exist

A study from Oregon Health & Science University has highlighted the home court advantage afforded to NBA teams in the bubble this summer.

The study analyzed the effects of travel-related sleep issues (like jet lag) on performance across all 22 NBA teams inside the bubble, and found that sleep issues actually did affect performance.

While a roaring crowd may not be the reason that home-court advantage exists, the idea that an away team’s performance may be affected by travel is very much real, both inside and outside of the bubble.
