A Halftime Deficit Turns Into a Statement Win
Vancouver came out strong, building a 2-1 lead by halftime thanks to goals from Anna Bout and Latifah Abdu. But Ottawa had other plans for the second half, flipping the game on its head with a four-goal surge that left the Rise scrambling and the home supporters on their feet.
Pridham and Belzile Steal the Spotlight
Delaney Baie Pridham and Florence Belzile each notched a pair of goals in the win, powering Ottawa’s offensive push through the second half. Elise Bell rounded out the scoring, giving the Rapid five different ways to put the ball in the net on a day when everything seemed to click.
Climbing the Standings
The win pushed Ottawa (12-8-4, 40 points) into second place in the Northern Super League, just two points back of league-leading Montreal Roses FC (11-4-9, 42 points). It also kept the Rapid firmly in the hunt for the league’s Supporters’ Shield, a title that rewards the top regular-season finisher.
For Vancouver (8-12-4), the result was a tough one to swallow, as the team missed an opportunity to lock up the league’s final playoff spot.
Looking Ahead to a Must-Watch Finale
Ottawa closes out its regular season this Friday with a showdown against Montreal at Stade Boréale, and the stakes could not be higher. A win for the Rapid would clinch the 2026 NSL Supporters’ Shield outright, making for one of the biggest home matches of the club’s season.
