Toronto rarely needs an excuse for a weekend away, but the city continues to give Ottawa travellers new reasons to return. This itinerary keeps things simple: stay downtown, make dinner the event, and leave time for a few hours dedicated entirely to slowing down.
Stay: Soho Hotel
Fresh from a 2026 renovation, SoHo Hotel Toronto offers a boutique alternative to Toronto’s larger luxury hotels. The Canadian-owned property sits in the Entertainment District, within walking distance of the
CN Tower, Rogers Centre and much of downtown, with notably spacious guest rooms as well as luxury apartments available for shorter stays.
The hotel pairs its central address with the amenities of a much larger property, including personal concierge service, two restaurants, room service, meeting and event spaces, a saltwater pool and an extensive health club. For travellers staying longer than a standard weekend, the apartment-style accommodations add another option without giving up hotel services.
Dine: FK Restaurant
On St. Clair West, FK is the work of chef Frank Parhizgar and co-owner Shawn Cooper, the husband-and-wife team originally behind Frank’s Kitchen. Parhizgar’s cooking is rooted in French classics but driven by seasonal ingredients and modern Canadian influences, with much of the menu made in-house and changing regularly.
In it’s 16th year, FK continues to achieve a high level of recognition annually as being a Michelin Recommended Restaurant, winner of the Dirona Award of Excellence and the Wine Spectator ‘Best of’ Award of Excellence. Known for it’s changing seasonal menu, warm and informed service and beautiful high-level tastings, it’s a local and international destination with food lovers and celebrity clientele.
RESET: Body Blitz Spa
Founded in 2005, Body Blitz Spa East was created as a women-only urban waters spa, bringing the centuries-old European tradition of “taking the waters” into downtown Toronto. Guests move between hot, warm and cold at their own pace, or can add a massage or water-based body treatment. At the centre of the experience is its Therapeutic Waters Circuit: a warm Dead Sea salt pool, hot Epsom salt pool, cold plunge, eucalyptus steam room and infrared sauna.
