It’s been just over 10 years since Rihanna broke the internet (atleast in Ottawa) by going out in LA wearing a vintage Ottawa Senators jersey as a dress.
In April of 2013, Rihanna attended a West Hollywood night club wearing the vintage jersey, paired with Tom Ford Ankle Cuff Pumps that cost a hefty $1,500.
The motive behind the outfit choice may purely have been one of fashion. But, other factors may have been at play, given that the star was due to perform at the Canadian Tire Centre on May 2nd, as a stop on her Diamonds tour.
Back in Ottawa, the series of Rihanna-Sens photos (including one of Rihanna posing against a piano to show off the outfit), caused a great stir. It started a somewhat brief twitter trend called #Rihannaing, where Sens fans would take and post a picture in their jersey with no pants on, in the name of fashion.
