Long-Term Care Home Near Ottawa Transforms Patio Into A Safe Visitation Area For Residents And Family

Long Sault’s Woodland Villa has helped their residents safely visit with family and friends by transforming their patio space into a custom-made safe visitation area.

The patio is enclosed with wood walls and fitted with see-through plastic wrap and plexiglass so that residents can visit with family safely. The walls are decorated with artwork to help make the area more uplifting. This way, residents can enjoy some time outdoors and feel close to family while keeping their health risks low.

Residents can book 30-minute time slots for visiting on the patio, all of which have been booked solid since the area was opened on May 27th.

“It has been very amazing to be a part of this joy that they are experiencing. I am very happy to be able to offer this type of visiting for our residents.” Woodlands Villa administrator Janna Sabourin told Omni Healthcare in a press release published on their website.

As we head into summer, improvisations like this can be an extremely successful way to help our seniors to stay social and keep their spirits high.
