Home Alone Was #1 In Theatres 30 Years Ago Today

This year marks 30 years since home alone was released. In 1990, the movie scored big at box offices, and held the title of highest-grossing live-action comedy ever for over 20 years, until it was passed by The Hangover Part II in 2011.

Home Alone is still one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time. It received two Golden Globe nominations after its release: one for Best Motion Picture, and the other for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. The best actor, as we know, was Macaulay Culkin, for which his role as 8-year-old Kevin would define his career.
