Ditch The E-Reader And Laptop Screen: Start Printing Off Your Reports To Understand Them Better, Studies Show

If you are accustomed to learning online, through your screen, or on an e-reader, you might find you have better retention if you switch to print, a report says.

A report published in the Journal of Research in Reading found that readers had better recall and understanding of information when reading from a physical copy rather than a digital version of the information.

The report was put together by Virginia Clinton and analyzed dozens of studies on the subject of e-readers and cognitive function, and found that paper outperformed digital by a small margin, especially when helping readers understand large, abstract concepts.
