How To Help Ottawa/Gatineau Tornado Relief Efforts

Damaged tree wreckage caused from tornado in Larimer Country, Colorado.

Many families in Dunrobin, Greenbank and Gatineau areas have been left affected by Friday’s tornado. Some have lost almost all of their belongings, the place they call home or the business they have run for years.  Here are a few ways that you can help those affected these events.

Help Fundraising Efforts.

The Ottawa Senators have started a gofundme that has already raised over $38,000 in one day. They have matched donations up to $25,000. You can donate to this fund here.

Donate Food, Clothes and Supplies

MP Merrilee Fullerton’s office is accepting donations of food and clothing at their office for those affected in the west-end and Dunrobin. The Salvation Army is collecting similar donations for other affected areas. In Gatineau, people can drop these items off at the old Sears location at the Galeries de Hull on Boul. Saint-Joseph.

Support Relief Efforts

Communities are working hard to get back on their feet, and while many of us are still without power, it’s important to be patient. The Red Cross is helping to support all of those affected and working hard to restore our affected communities. You can donate to the Red Cross online or by calling 1-800-418-1111.
