It felt like Canada Day came early on Wellington yesterday as a crowd gathered with national flags to watch a performance by Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, followed by Minister Mélanie Joly speaking on this year’s Canada Day activities.

The Minister of Canadian Heritage presented three themes to this year’s Canada Day Celebrations: female empowerment, diversity and inclusion, and the third theme of reconciliation.

The celebrations, which will run from June 30th to July 1st, will take place across three sites: Major Hill’s Park, The Canadian Museum of History, and Parliament Hill. Performances on the Hill include Lights, The Arkells,  and Elijah x Jamie.
