via caringandsharing.ca

If you’re looking to give back this holiday season, there are lots of places you can do so. Read on to find out which charities and nonprofits are collecting this year. Most of these programs also welcome volunteers, so if you’re not able to donate any funds you can always donate your time.

THE CARING AND SHARING CHRISTMAS EXCHANGE

This program provides those in need with food hampers and other redeemable gift certificates. You can make small donations to this initiative or sponsor a hamper directly.

THE HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

The Ottawa food Bank asks for workplaces, communities and groups to register in November to help with their holiday food drive for Ottawa families. You can opt to have your donations picked up by truck in December. Donations help to provide emergency food services to families throughout the winter months.

THE SALVATION ARMY KETTLE CAMPAIGN

If you’re out doing your Christmas shopping you have probably seen the Bell Ringers supporting the Kettle Campaign. Any type of donation helps, whether it’s a $20 bill or the extra change in your pocket. This campaign raises money to help bring food, clothes and practical assistance to families directly in Ottawa.
