Where To Watch The Famous Canada Day Fireworks in Ottawa This Year

Everyone who has spent Canada Day in Ottawa before knows how crazy it gets downtown. It’s the Nation’s Capital and this city sure knows how to throw a party. The best part? The grand finale fireworks launched from Nepean Point, near the National Gallery of Canada and the Alexandra Bridge.

If you’re planning to stick around the city for the long weekend, you don’t want to miss this 15-minute dazzling pyromusical circuit – with a 100% Canadian musical score. The must-see show includes a total of 42 pyrotechnics, with 1 217 aerial bombs, 150 of the largest authorized bombs in Canada, for a total of 1 367 projectiles/pyrotechnic effects.

Common myth: Parliament is the best place to watch the fireworks. While the show is visible from the Hill, the Parliament Buildings might block part of your view. Confederation Boulevard and Major’s Hill Park offer great vantage points, and of course, anywhere along the Ottawa River is a great option too.

The Manulife Canada Day fireworks show begins around 10:00pm (although it is weather dependent). Join thousands of locals and tourists for Canada’s 152nd birthday in the Capital!
