Kanata’s Roosters Men’s Grooming Takes Extra Precautions To Get You In The Barber’s Chair Sooner

Described as the classic Canadian barbershop for the 21st century man, Roosters Men’s Grooming in Kanata Centrum is doubling down on safety measures in preparation for opening.

“We’ve put a great deal of thought and care into making sure our shop environment is as safe and sanitized as possible for you and our barbers and stylists,” says Phil Weaver, owner of Roosters Men’s Grooming in Kanata Centrum.

The Roosters brand, working with infectious disease doctors at the University of Minnesota, have adopted a safe salon commitment. They strongly recommend everyone to book an appointment online or on their app before coming to the shop in order to minimize in-person wait time, and all payments are cashless.

Other measures they’ve implemented include spacing chairs in the service and waiting areas to ensure that social distancing (at least six feet) is still enforced, even in their establishments. Their barbers and stylists are required to have a CDC or Public Health Agency-recommended face mask that covers the nose and mouth for the entirety of their shift. They will also frequently wash and sanitize their hands.

Dividers have been installed between barber stations, and workstations will be wiped down and sanitized after each use to reduce the risk of germ spread.

During this time, Roosters has temporarily suspended face-to-face services such as beard shaves and trims in order to reduce risk on both the customer and employee. Barbers will also wear personal eye protection while shampooing hair at the sink.

Much care will also go into the shop’s environment. Before opening each day, the entire establishment will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to the city’s mandates. The waiting room will be free of magazines, toys, coffee machines and any other items that are frequently-handled. They are also strongly encouraging contactless payment if possible (have you ever googled how dirty money is? Give it a go, you’ll be unpleasantly surprised).

You can view Roosters’ complete official statement via their website, which also includes information on the services and styles they can offer you. Roosters specializes in classics like the crop cut, the fade, textured longer taper, classic taper, modern quiff, pompadour and too many more to list. If you would like to try their services, be sure to book an appointment online to minimize in-person wait time. To contact them, you can call them at 613-271-9711 or book an appointment at their website. They are located at 145 Roland Michener Drive in Kanata.
