Over 1 in 10 People Have Never Talked To Their Neighbour, Survey Finds

A symptom of a digital age, growing communities, or something else? Research into the common behaviours of homeowners and their neighbours has found that 10% of North Americans have never shared words (kind or not) with their neighbours.

North American real estate and housing source homes.com commissioned a study to get an inside track on the inter-neighbourly behaviours that unite us. After surveying 2,000 homeowners in North America, they found some interesting statistics (including the fact that over 36% of people have fought with their neighbours at least once).

The trend is slightly more prevalent in younger generations, with the 23-34 demo taking the cake for most anti-social: over 14% of respondents in the age group have never had a conversation with their neighbour, compared to 8-10% in every other category.
