You Can Zipline from Ottawa-Gatineau this Summer on Interzip, Opening June 24th

The Ottawa-Gatineau Interzip Rogers Zipline is set to open to the public on Thursday, June 24th, with tickets available to the general public on June 19th at 8am, and pre-sale booking already open for those brave enough to be the first to experience the new attraction.

The Zipline links Ottawa and Gatineau over the Ottawa River; this first-ever interprovincial zipline allows ticket holders the unique experience to fly across the Ontario/Quebec border at 40 km/hr, all while experiencing the sights of the city from 120 feet above the water.

The Interzip will run from June 24th to October 1st, and organizers are anticipating a busy season—having an impressive amount of pre-sale tickets already sold. Orkestra co-president Alex Van Dieren said of the opening, “The 2021 summer season should be very exciting! We know the public is looking for new and exciting activities and we are certain that we’re offering something unique in the world.”

Interzip promises to be an exciting and safe outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy, with no set age restrictions—though you’ll need a parents signature on the waiver if you’re under 18, and the weight requirement starts at 70lbs. For those not interested in the 45 minute zipline experience across the river, a viewing area is set up for spectators near registration—which the website states is the perfect spot to snap a pic of your friends or family for a souvenir.

With strict safety measures in place to account for the unpredictability of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, visitors can feel confident that their wellbeing is a top priority. The first few weeks of the attraction’s opening will see only half the amount of daily riders as standard operation, and an online booking system will ensure rides are pre-scheduled to prevent overcrowding.

More information on the highly anticipated attraction can be found on the Interzip website’s FAQ and pre-sale tickets can be purchased now for the 2021 season. After a year of the same old, this experience promises to be an exciting opportunity to be a part of something entirely new and unique–get your tickets today.
