For more than a century, Campbell Ford has been helping Ottawa move forward.
What began as a local dealership in 1922 has evolved into one of the region’s most established automotive businesses, serving generations of customers across both personal and commercial transportation needs.
Still family-owned after four generations, Campbell Ford has grown alongside the city itself. Through changing technologies, economic shifts, and decades of growth across the National Capital Region, the dealership has remained committed to the same principles that helped establish its reputation more than 100 years ago: strong customer relationships, community involvement, and a straightforward approach to doing business.
While many know Campbell Ford for its consumer vehicles, the dealership’s commercial division has become a significant part of its success, supporting businesses throughout Eastern Ontario with fleet solutions, work-ready vehicles, financing, and upfit expertise.
The strength of that operation was recently on display during Campbell Ford’s VIP Fleet Sales Event, held June 8-12. Bringing together commercial customers, industry suppliers, financing partners, and a large inventory of work-ready vehicles, the event highlighted the breadth of solutions available to businesses across the region.
Leading much of that effort is Dave Pilon, Commercial Account Manager, who works directly with businesses to understand their needs and develop vehicle solutions tailored to their operations.
“Every business is different,” says Pilon. “What works for a contractor may not work for a delivery company or a municipality. Our job is to understand how our customers operate and help them find vehicles that support their business today and as they grow.”
Unlike a traditional vehicle purchase, commercial buyers often require much more than a truck or van. Many need specialized equipment, cargo solutions, custom storage systems, trailers, safety enhancements, or other modifications that allow the vehicle to perform a specific job. Campbell Ford works closely with a network of trusted suppliers and upfit partners to help businesses build vehicles that are ready for the demands of the real world.
Whether a customer is purchasing a single work truck or expanding an entire fleet, the process begins with understanding how that vehicle will be used.
“We spend a lot of time asking questions,” says Pilon. “The goal isn’t just to sell a vehicle. It’s to help customers make the right investment for their business.”
The dealership’s commercial division serves a broad range of industries. Construction companies, electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, landscapers, municipalities, transportation providers, and service-based businesses all have unique vehicle requirements. By combining Ford’s extensive commercial lineup with financing solutions and upfit support, Campbell Ford is able to offer a comprehensive approach that simplifies the purchasing process.
Commercial customers also benefit from access to a wide range of vehicle options. From Ford Transit vans and Super Duty pickups to medium-duty trucks and specialized commercial units, businesses can find solutions that fit virtually any application. During the recent fleet event, attendees had the opportunity to explore dozens of commercial vehicles, including Transit vans, Super Duty trucks, dump trucks, cube vans, and other work-ready solutions designed to meet the needs of growing businesses.
That demand continues to grow as Ottawa expands and businesses look for ways to improve efficiency, increase capacity, and modernize their fleets.
“Businesses depend on their vehicles every day,” says Pilon. “Downtime costs money. We understand that, and we take pride in helping customers find reliable solutions that allow them to focus on running their business.”
For Campbell Ford, commercial sales are about more than inventory. They are about partnerships. The dealership’s team works to build long-term relationships that extend well beyond the initial purchase, providing guidance, support, and expertise as customers’ needs evolve over time.
More than 100 years after first opening its doors, Campbell Ford continues to adapt alongside the community it serves. For Ottawa’s business owners, contractors, fleet managers, and entrepreneurs, the dealership’s commercial division has become more than a place to purchase vehicles. It has become a trusted partner helping drive business forward.
