Brady Tkachuk’s Young Family Expecting Their First Child

For Brady Tkachuk and his wife, Emma, last summer was all about their wedding and the whirlwind planning that goes into that. This summer, they’re taking a new plunge. They’re getting ready to be parents.

Brady Tkachuk announced on Instagram this week that a baby boy is on the way in September.

Tkachuk also posted a couple of images of Emma’s ultrasound, along with a small white celebration cake that read “Baby Tkachuk” spelled out in white icing.

The news prompted plenty of fun social media reaction from Sens fans, who are already making Baby Tkachuk the top prospect for the 2042 NHL Draft. And why not? His father, Brady; his Uncle Matthew; and his Grandpa Keith, didn’t just make the NHL. All three became NHL stars. And the little guy’s Auntie Taryn is a fine field hockey player for the University of Virginia.

Those are some outstanding hockey bloodlines.

The happy couple met during Brady’s one year of school at Boston University during the Terriers’ 2017-18 season. He got drafted after that season and went directly to the NHL that fall.

The couple got engaged in 2022 and were married last summer with former Senator Mark Stone and brother Matthew acting as groomsmen. Stone’s Vegas Golden Knights had just defeated Matthew’s Florida Panthers to win the Stanley Cup. So Stone probably had to stifle some laughter at Matthew’s expense when the priest asked, “Who has the ring?”

Brady and Emma have been very active in the local community, especially with BGC Ottawa. They partnered with the youth club to help establish ‘Tkachuk’s Captains,’ a program that will bring a unique focus to sports, healthy lifestyle, and nutrition.

“Getting to see first-hand the environment the BGC provides young people across our Ottawa Community was inspiring and something we wanted to try and contribute to,” Tkachuk said.

After this year, Tkachuk has four years left on his contract with the Senators so the new addition to the family will be here for at least his first three birthdays. Sens fans hope he’ll be here for many more beyond that.
