Senators Winger Parker Kelly Agrees to a New Deal

It’s been an interesting year for Parker Kelly. The 23-year-old Ottawa Senators winger became a full-time NHL player for the first time, not spending a single day down in the minors. He was certainly disappointed to miss the season’s final month with a broken kneecap.

But the knee was feeling a lot better on the weekend, pushed into action for a special moment.

While vacationing in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Kelly proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Kiarra McMullan. There’s been no word yet on a wedding date.

Kelly still has one year left on his contract with the Senators. His deal is worth $775,000 next season whether he plays in the NHL or in the minors. That’s not great money by NHL standards, but more than enough to pick up something impressive at the jewelry store.
