Redblacks Final Game Primer

The Ottawa Redblacks suit up for their final game of the season tonight, against the Montreal Alouettes. Ottawa sits last in the East Division (2-11) and will once again, miss the playoffs. Here are some things you need to know for their last game of the season.

The Redblacks will suit up an all-Canadian offensive line. Mark Korte at left tackle, Jakub Szott at left guard, the center will be Andrew Pickett, Jaylen Guthrie at right guard and Ketel Asse will be the right tackle. This is will be another new starting 5 on the O-line and their 14th of the season. Ottawa has dressed a different starting 5 in all 14 games this year.

Caleb Evans will be the starting quarterback tonight. The 23-year-old has thrown for 1106 yards, with 5 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He’s also added 289 yards and a rushing touchdown with his feet. This will be the 7thstart of the season for Evans, who made his CFL debut against the Edmonton Elks on September 28th, impressing with his athletic ability and finishing the game with 3 TD and 0 INT. Since then, Evans has only thrown for 2 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in the 5 other starts.

Jordan Smallwood will make his 2nd start of the season at Slotback. Smallwood has spent most of the season between the injured list and practice roster. Frankie Griffin will start at SAM linebacker over Don Unamba.
