Bank Street will close to motorists on Saturdays to create new walking street, starting this weekend

Downtown Bank Street has just announced that it will create a walking street for pedestrians to enjoy every Saturday starting July 11th.

 

In a press release posted to twitter, the Bank Street BIA explained that it will close the section of Bank Street between Queen and Flora to create a walking street that will be open from 9 am to 11:59 pm. The goal is to open up the busy street to as many people as possibly, safely, in the hopes that businesses and customers will benefit from the increased foot traffic.

 

The city has created designated loading zones for food delivery trucks and services, so that businesses will not be affected by the closure.
