Chelsea Green has spent the past decade carving out a career that few could have predicted—but one she always believed in. From training in Calgary to making a name for herself in promotions across Canada, Green built the foundation for a career that would eventually lead her to WWE. Now, as the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion, she is bringing her title back to where it all began.

On March 1, 2025, at the Rogers Centre, Green will step into the ring at Elimination Chamber: Toronto, WWE’s first Elimination Chamber event in Canada since 2014. For Green, it’s more than just a high-profile stop on the road to WrestleMania—it’s a long-overdue homecoming.
“I don’t care—rain, shine, hurricane, blizzard—I love coming back to Canada,” Green says. “The WWE Universe here always shows up, and we’ve had such incredible turnouts in 2024 with Survivor Series and Money in the Bank.”

A Canadian Journey to WWE
Born in Victoria, BC, Green’s wrestling career took off in Calgary, where she trained under Lance Storm before dominating the independent circuit. She won her first championship in Canada, wrestling under the name Jaida, before moving on to TNA (now IMPACT Wrestling), where she became Knockouts Champion as the over-the-top character Laurel Van Ness.
But despite success in other promotions, WWE remained the ultimate goal. She had her first WWE tryout in 2015, made an appearance on Tough Enough, and later worked in Japan and India—all steps on a winding road that led her to SmackDown and, ultimately, to championship gold.
“At the beginning, I looked like a star, but I wasn’t being paid like one,” she admits. “I had no clue where I was going—but little moments along the way kept me pushing forward.”
Time for WrestleMania in Canada?
With WWE returning to Canada for Elimination Chamber, Green believes the company should keep bringing its biggest events north of the border.
“We haven’t had a WrestleMania in Canada in over 20 years—it’s time,” she says. “The fans here bring something special. Just look at how massive Money in the Bank was last year. Now, with WWE’s new Netflix deal giving Canadians access to Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and all premium live events, I think the timing is perfect.”
Green knows that performing at Elimination Chamber: Toronto will be a career highlight, but she also sees it as proof that Canadian wrestling fans deserve more.
“I personally think we need to keep bringing more big events to Canada,” she says. “And honestly, if we don’t get a WrestleMania soon, I think we need to start a petition.”
For now, all eyes are on Elimination Chamber, where Green is set to make history once again—this time, in front of a crowd that has been with her from the very beginning.
