Elf Turns 20 Years Old Today

For many holiday film fanatics, Elf is a Christmas classic that perfectly captures the magic of the season in its creation of Buddy the elf. Interestingly enough, Will Ferrell turned down $29 million to play Buddy in a sequel.

When the film was released in theatres 20 years ago today, it was the top holiday film of the season, grossing over $220 million at box offices. Today, it stands as one of the most popular holiday movies of all time.
