“I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues.” After 50 years on stage pop icon Elton John brings his legendary career to a close with a three year “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. The tour will grace Ottawa September 28 at the Canadian Tire Centre. At 70 years old Elton John has had a career like no other. He was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame in 1994 and knighted by the Queen in 1998 giving him the tittle “Sir Elton John”. His most notable career highlight was his beautiful tribute to Princess Diana with his song “Candle in the Wind”.

Throughout his career Elton has received five Grammy’s, an Oscar and a Golden Globe. His farewell tour will kickoff September 8 in Allentown, PA with an anticipated 300 additional shows. The announcement of this tour was so popular across the world Elton himself had to apologize for his webpage crashing on his personal Instagram account. “ Wow! Elton’s classic glitter sprinkled glasses and flashy tuxedo’s will be fashioned by Gucci for his last hurrah. Dry your crocodile tears and celebrate this lyrical genius at his farewell tour in Ottawa September 28. Although this might be the end to his touring days Elton will continue to awe us for a “long, long, time”
