The Asian Night Market Returns To Ottawa’s Chinatown This Weekend

Calling all foodies! The capital’s biggest Night Market – Ottawa’s Asian Fest is taking over Chinatown this weekend.

This popular 3 day event brings in chefs and vendors from the Ottawa and Toronto area to deliver the absolute best in Asian culture and cuisine. Starting this Friday evening July 26th to Sunday July 28th, enjoy Asian inspired music, culture, and food as Somerset street comes alive with an incredible atmosphere.

The food options are endless, and it includes something for everyone. The famous steamed BBQ pork buns from one of Ottawa’s longest running Vietnamese restaurants will be available and are said to sell out quick. They also have added meat alternatives to the line up this year including lightly grilled Chinese tofu skins. Find other favourites such as squid on a stick, Bubble Tea, grilled oysters, and many new delicacies and dishes – so bring your appetite.

Pictured below is another new addition, the KOGO, coming to the food festival from Toronto-based chefs. It’s a Korean corn dog which comes in a variety of cheesy and sweet flavours.

Hong-Kong style egg waffles are returning to the market with a new flavour: the Takoyaki bubble waffle – which combines a blend of Japanese and Hong Kong cuisine. Last year, they created the popular Mac & Cheese bubble waffle which will also be back again, along with multiple other sweet + savoury waffles.
