Death To 2020: Netflix’s Recap of the Year

So… this has been quite the year hasn’t it. Starting with a literal wildfire across the country and ending with North America becoming more divided than ever with the pandemic and their politics. It’s probably safe to say that most people are looking forward to the clock hitting midnight this Thursday.

After missing Christmas with your family and entering a city-wide lockdown, it might be almost therapeutic to have a good laugh about the whole thing; and who better to deliver than Charlie Booker. From the mind that brought you the twisted tales from Black Mirror, Booker takes a step out of his comfort zone by bringing us a comedic recap of the year 2020.

Joined by an assemble of celebrities including Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Lisa Kudrow, Cristin Milioti and many more, the special dives into all the moments of the past year that were, in simple terms, “memorable.” These moments include the wildfires in Australia, the riots that spawned from the death of George Floyd, the dividing opinions on the validity of the COVID-19 pandemic and ending with the Trump/Biden election.

The mockumentary offers an over-the-top comedic look at these events while also acknowledging how emotional and somewhat ridiculous they were in hindsight. Death to 2020 was released on Netflix on Dec. 27; it’ll be a great way to ring out the year and welcome 2021 with open arms.
