The longest-running multi-camera show, The Big Bang Theory, celebrates its 13th anniversary since the airing of its first episode this week. 

 

The sitcom ran for 12 seasons, and a record-breaking 279 episodes before ending in May 2019, but the reruns are still enjoyed today. 

 

During its run, the show was the highest-rated comedy series on television, with an average of 18.9 million viewers during its season 11 airing. 

 

The popularity of the show saw its cast take the spotlight as the highest-paid television actors and actresses during its running, with an average payday of $1 million per episode for its members.
