It’s crazy that we’re already halfway through the year, isn’t it? It’s almost as if working from home, having the same routine in and out, makes the days sort of mesh together. Thankfully, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
Ontario is currently on its way to reopening, recently starting in phase two. With phase three on the horizon, we just have to hold it together a bit longer. In the meantime, Netflix still has your back with monthly original content. So, try to make the best of the situation and enjoy some quality entertainment.
Dynasty Warriors
July 1
Suppose you’ve ever played the popular video game series. If that’s the case, you’d know that the games intense with over-the-top combat and a heart-pounding soundtrack. From the trailer, the film seems pretty on track with the original source material. If it’ll stick the landing, though, is really anyone’s guess.
The plot tells the tale of a dynasty falling as heroes and warriors of the Three Kingdom Period must stand together to repel evil forces. After the release of Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog, video game movies are on a bit of an incline. So, it’s really up in the air, and the only way to find out is to tune in and watch.
Fear Street Part 1: 1994
July 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clZK2PqLWpI
Based on the book series of the same name, we get to see the more intense side of Goosebumps author R.L Stein. The start of an ambitious horror trilogy, Fear Street takes place in the fictional town of Shadyside, where paranormal events are the norm.
The first film, 1994, tells the story of a group of teenagers who discover that their town isn’t only home to terrifying events, but they might be connected somehow… and they might be the next victims. Each film in the trilogy will dive deep into these incidents throughout different periods. Hopefully, they can pull it off.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness
July 8
The perfect palate cleanser before the upcoming film revival this November. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness once again teams up Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as a hacking incident is uncovered at the White House, unleashing a mysterious zombie attack.
Set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, this anime TV series will surely be a treat for those long-time fans of video game series. Honestly, can’t go much lower after that rubbish live-action film series.

As past feelings start bubbling to the surface, she must keep their past relationship a secret to avoid an awkward situation. Can she do it? Have you ever seen any romantic comedy? Chances are, you probably already know.
The Last Mercenary (2021)

How will he do so? Well, Jean-Claude Van Damme plays a mercenary called “The Mist,” so clearly, he’ll be known for his finesse, not his snicker-worthy nickname. Can he live up to it going up against the government and mafia? Well, he was a Universal Soldier and Time Cop, so the deck might be stacked in his favour.
